Connect your email account to LeadJabber

2 min readChecked against LeadJabber 9 March 2026

Short answer

Connect the mailbox you send from so LeadJabber can pick up replies to your campaigns. Go to User Profile, find Email Accounts, click Connect new and choose Google, Microsoft or Other (SMTP) depending on where your email is hosted.

Why LeadJabber needs access to your mailbox

LeadJabber sends your campaigns through your email gateway, such as SendGrid. Replies still arrive in your own mailbox. Connecting the mailbox lets LeadJabber register those replies, stop the sequence for the contact and show the conversation in the Engager.

Before you begin

  • The email address must be on your own domain. Free addresses such as gmail.com or yahoo.com cannot be used for sending.
  • You need to be able to log in to the mailbox to approve the connection.
  • If your email is not hosted by Google or Microsoft, have your password and your IMAP and SMTP server details ready.

Choose your email provider

  • Google Workspace: for business email hosted by Google (Gmail).
  • Microsoft 365: for business email in Outlook or Exchange.
  • Other (SMTP): for all other providers, for example Zoho, one.com or your web host.

Not sure where your email is hosted? Most business email runs on Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. Ask the person who manages your domain or IT if you are unsure.

Sending from an alias or a shared inbox

You can send from an alias instead of the main address of the mailbox. LeadJabber asks for the alias name and address while you connect, and you can also add an alias later. To send from a group address or shared inbox, your user must already have permission to send on behalf of that address in Google or Microsoft before you connect.

View, change or disconnect an email account

All connected accounts are listed under Email Accounts in your User Profile. From there you can see the connection details, add an alias address, or disconnect the account from LeadJabber.
